BeOS/Zeta Subversion
Date: 16/8/2005
I've got Zeta 1.0 installed and I'm trying to checkout source code from a subversion database and I get:

$ svn co file:///shared/CodeRep/Lgi
svn: Unable to open an ra_local session to URL
svn: Unable to open repository 'file:///shared/CodeRep/Lgi'
svn: Error opening db lockfile
svn: Can't get shared lock on file '/shared/CodeRep/locks/db.lock': General OS error

Now I know about deleting 'db/__db.???' when switching OS, because I do that under Linux and svn works fine from both Win32 and Linux. But under BeOS it just errors out.

Grrrrr :(

Hi Matthew,

I'm still doubting whether I should give Zeta a try. What's your advice, should I give it a try? Apart from your problems, is it usable?

I havn't done much with it yet, anytime I boot into it I'm building code not "using" it. I had a lot of trouble with my nVidia card and drivers, and I have to use the CD to boot it. So it's all a bit annoying to use at the moment.

I am trying hard to bring Lgi and i.Ftp up to scratch again. I had a lot of issues on the beta builds of Zeta. I havn't got far enough yet to tell if 1.0 is any different. Lgi now builds, and I'll be work on the i.Ftp code over the next few days. If it runs ok without huge hassles I'll be posting a fresh release of i.Ftp/BeOS over the weekend.

Although I get the mini on saturday so that might be a pipe dream ;)
