Author/Date InScribe WIN v.1.8.7 test 22 - 100% cpu usage

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with the above version. It's frequently using all available cpu cycles (WIN XP). I can't identify when it does this but once it starts doing so it carries on until I kill it.

Any suggestions or ideas for how to determine what might be happening here?

Thanks,

Mike

Are any of the accounts active?

If you mean connected to the server, then no. I have one account polling for mail every 10 minutes. I've just sent myself several items and it's working fine right now (no cpu usage). Functionally, it also appears fine when it's using the whole cpu, in that mail goes out and is collected normally. I'm watching it to see if I can identify when this happens!

Hi,

Can you give me a link to the most recent InScribe version of scribe.exe before the version in this heading as this is effectively making test 22 unusable (on this machine).

Thanks,

Mike

I've uploaded test20 to the inscribe download area.

Hi:
I'm not shure if my case is like you describe. I have the same problem of the 100% CP usage every time I compose a new mesage, try to replay, replay to all or forward a message but, a strange thing, it dosen't hapen when I bounce a message. This behavior it's really anoying, i.Scribe stops responding and when I minimize the main window or the compose window the space in the screen becames white. I'm using i.Scribe 1.87 Test 20 and it also hapens with Test 22 and the debug version for Test 22 and my OS in WinXP SP2.

So sorry, I mean the debug version for Test 20.

Ecragi: These are different things. One is a "hang" because the application stops responding and one is mearly chewing all the CPU, but still responding. The code in question would have to have a yield loop inside the code that hangs for the application to respond to the user.

Ecragi: Could you try this and send me the 'scribe.txt' file it outputs?

It's something about your .sig file that Scribe's choking on. Could you send me your sig file as an attachment? (Don't post it here because all the formatting will be striped out).
