Author/Date Scribe features, especially referring to the pop3 server

Hello,

Disliking outlook, I will change from a simple freeware mail client for my Win2k sytem to a more sophisticated program. More than a year ago I've already had a look at iScribe, but I don't remember these aspects:
- Using Scribe, can you keep your mails on the pop3 server? And when deleting mails in the Scribe database, are they deleted on the server too?
- Can you register Scribe as default viewer for *.eml mails?
Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards, Ludwig

Using Scribe, can you keep your mails on the pop3 server? And when deleting mails in the Scribe database, are they deleted on the server too?

You can leave the email on the server, but it doesn't delete on the server when you delete locally. The only options for deleting on the server are:
  • By filter
  • After 'n' days
  • Immediately

Can you register Scribe as default viewer for *.eml mails?

Yes I think you can, just pass the file on the command line. Although I don't use it that way. I drag the file to one of Scribe's folders to import it.

Thank you, I now have IScribe 1.9 installed. Nice.
It may be a feature, but I regard it as a bug: You can alter the eml-files when viewing it.

The current version doesn't allow editing of email you have received.
